Dear Bel-fly Readers
Thankfully, amongst all the sounds of soccer crowds and vuvuzelas, there is still the peace and quiet of fly fishing. Actually you can enjoy both if you want to, early morning start on the dam and fish until lunch time. Then you can decide just how many of the games you want to watch or perhaps an afternoon’s fishing will win the day and you can just watch the night games. The pub, hotel and restaurant are all offering the big screen so why not enjoy the best of both worlds this month and next.
The dams still have plenty of water and by all reports the trout are very active. The ladies put back all the fish they caught so those nice big ones should still be out there waiting in Dams 6 & 7. Full story of the weekend follows later in the newsletter.
We would like to thank those who made donations enabling us to employ a few more pairs of helping hands to get the dams ready for the winters fishing. We are facilitating the Curamus competition for the disabled on the 26 June, an experience well worth being part of, July will see the extended Jack Frost competition where great fun should be had by all, why don’t you get your friends together and enter as a team? In August we have a corporate day for Goldfields Mining SA team and September our annual festival.
Hopefully we will see as many of you as possible at these events as they are certainly what is keeping the club alive. Any other corporate days you could bring to the club would be appreciated. Contact Magda to see what is involved and how you can help the club grow again.
Please note that subscriptions for 2010/2011 are due again from July 1st. We really urge all members to take this pledge to pay as soon as possible seriously. The financial state of the Club is really in dire state and we barely meet all our responsibilities each month.
Regards
From Your committee.
